Chess is a 15.1hh bred by Hector Barrantes in Argentina.
Free moving stallion with plenty of bone and strong feet. Selected from Hector Barrantes’ top bloodlines and specifically bred for polo. Now in his eighteenth covering season at Down Farm, his offspring have proved themselves in low, medium and high goal.
A number of ponies played in the Argentine Open each year are directly related to Chess.
Here at Down Farm we use Chess on our smaller, finer, more thoroughbred mares. We also have a large number of young stock on the farm by him, which can be viewed by appointment.
Chess can only be used for Artificial Insemination. Please note extra veterinary costs associated with this procedure, detailed in the General Information section.
